Candle Care

Burn Better, Burn Safer

A little candle care goes a long way. Whether you're lighting up for a cozy night in or setting the mood for company, these simple tips will help your Serenity candle burn beautifully — every time.

🔥 First Burn = Most Important

Let your candle burn long enough to melt the entire top layer of wax (about 2–3 hours). This sets the “memory” of the wax and prevents tunneling, so your candle burns evenly down the jar.

✂️ Trim Your Wick

Before every burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch. This helps:

  • Prevent high flames and black soot
  • Keep the glass clean
  • Extend the life of your candle

Wick trimmers are your best friend (but nail scissors work in a pinch).

⏳ Don’t Overdo It

For best results, burn your candle for no more than 3–4 hours at a time. Longer burns can:

  • Overheat the jar
  • Drown the wick
  • Affect scent quality

Let the wax cool and reset before relighting.

💨 No Blowing, Please

Blowing out your candle creates smoke and mess. Instead:

  • Use a snuffer
  • Or gently dip the wick into the melted wax with a tool, then straighten it

Both options stop the burn cleanly and help the wick relight easily.

🚫 Burn Safely

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended
  • Keep away from kids, pets, drafts, and flammable objects
  • Always burn on a heat-safe surface

♻️ Reuse the Jar

Once there’s about ½ inch of wax left, it’s time to retire your candle. Clean out the jar and reuse it for:

  • Makeup brushes
  • Cotton pads
  • Pens or paintbrushes
  • A cute little plant

✨ Make It a Ritual

Our candles are hand-poured with care — treat them like part of your self-care ritual, not just another product. The better you treat them, the longer they glow.
